Lake Anthony Brings Global Reggae Voices Together on “World Needs Love”

Nine-year-old musician and producer Lake Anthony is bringing together a cross-section of the international reggae scene for his upcoming single “World Needs Love,” set for release on October 16, 2026.

The roots reggae track features an impressive lineup: Anthony B, Romain Virgo and Ce’Cile from Jamaica, Pato Banton representing the UK, Logan Bell of Katchafire from New Zealand, and Katherine Ramirez of California’s Mystic Roots Band, who is also Lake’s mother. The track is produced by Loud City.

The song interpolates the classic “What the World Needs Now Is Love” and puts a reggae setting around a message centred on peace, love and unity.

From Burning Man to a Global Reggae Collaboration

Lake Anthony’s profile grew earlier this year after a performance with Major Lazer at Burning Man 2026. During the appearance, Walshy Fire described the young musician as “the future of Reggae,” a moment that quickly brought attention to his work. Rather than following that moment with a conventional solo release, Lake has brought established reggae voices from different countries into his next project.

The lineup gives “World Needs Love” a distinctly international character. Anthony B, Romain Virgo and Ce’Cile bring Jamaican reggae and dancehall experience, while Pato Banton adds his long-standing connection to the UK reggae scene. New Zealand’s Katchafire and California’s Mystic Roots further extend the track’s reach across the global reggae community.

The idea behind the single also comes from Lake’s personal connection with Jamaica. After visiting the island and seeing communities affected by hurricane damage, he decided that proceeds from the release would be donated toward hurricane recovery efforts in Jamaica.

For Lake, the project is also about what music can do when artists from different backgrounds come together.

With “World Needs Love,” a nine-year-old producer is stepping into an international reggae collaboration alongside established artists from Jamaica, the UK, New Zealand and the United States.

“World Needs Love” will be available on major streaming platforms from October 16, 2026.
