Daniel Bless, A Conscious Voice from Trinidad to Africa

On SalyTvSn, we spotlight artists who combine message, culture, and global impact.

Daniel Bless stands out as a powerful voice in conscious reggae. Born in St Joseph, Trinidad & Tobago, his musical roots were shaped early: Apart from listening to my dad’s vinyl collection and my mother’s singing… I started composing songs to join beatbox sessions. ”

From those humble beginnings, he developed his craft through constant writing, performing, and self-discipline.

From Local Talent to International Stages

In the late 90s, alongside Kevin Baker as Israel Tribe, Daniel Bless began gaining recognition across Trinidad through performances and competitions. A defining breakthrough came in 1997:

“We placed 3rd… and opened for Sizzla, Luciano, Capleton.”

Sharing the stage with global reggae icons ignited his ambition and solidified his path in music.

Mastering the Craft and Sound System Culture

His journey deepened with Trendsetter Productions, where he refined his sound and understanding of reggae culture.

“ I developed skills in dubplates, riddims, voicing songs.”

His 2006 track “ Nah Bow ” marked a turning point, earning recognition across the islands during a time when reggae was still emerging in Trinidad.
